I have always wondered why the hauntings begin, and why they stop when they do.
We moved into a small apartment almost exactly a year ago, to get away from the increasingly disturbing and unsettling experiences we were having in the last house we lived in. And for a year, nothing at all happened. It was as if they got bored with me and left us alone.
But all of a sudden, things are beginning to happen in this apartment.
I am kind of surprised nothing had happened before now since this building is 101 years old. But out of the blue, they are back.
The first thing we noticed was at bedtime one night. We crawled into bed around midnight and got all snuggled in. We had both closed our eyes for about 30 seconds when we suddenly heard a very loud whisper in the room. It said something to the effect of, “Don’t let them sleep!” We both sat bolt upright in bed and said, simultaneously, “WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT??”
About a week later, my wife had to run out to do some shopping, and since I was alone, I decided to catch up with the dishes. As I stood at the sink, I suddenly heard a voice speak. It was loud and clear and unmistakeable. It spoke with urgency. It said, “Get it!” I have no idea what “it” was, and how I was supposed to “get” it. But even stranger, the voice sounded just like my oldest brother Ken.
Soon after, as my wife was doing some ironing, she watched as a tupperware type plastic container and a package of toilet paper went flying off a top shelf, crashing to the floor. A few days later, standing in the bedroom, she saw the drapery rod start swinging wildly on its own.
What makes them start up like this out of nowhere? What makes them stop for a year?
I have no answers. All I have are experiences. And I am sure this won’t be the last. After all, I am the Most Haunted Man in America.
